I’m currently working on designs for CNC laser/plasma cut steel components. Lots to learn about manufacturing processes!
I started out with some 6mm thick steel brackets which were awesome, but a bit over-kill for furniture. (Forgive the over-extended beam above the bracket. It’s a badly cut test beam.)
Decided to make them a bit smaller with rounded ends. Below is a test render from blender.
Our plan is to make these parametric so you can export these and get them made locally.
I’m getting some made locally so need to send off drawings to a local cut shop. Currently using Fusion360. It works great for sheet metal bending and being able to make quick schematics.
I’m sure there are all sorts of fun components that could be made using this technique.
